
About Me.
Tenesha Danielle Batiste is an accomplished individual with a strong educational background, holding a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English/Journalism from Tougaloo College, a Master of Business Administration with a focus in Human Resources Management from American Intercontinental University, and is currently a Human Capital Development Ph.D. candidate at the University of Southern Mississippi.
Her early achievements include graduating as an honor student from Moss Point High School in 2000 and earning recognition as a Miss Moss Point High School.
In her professional career, she has served in various prominent roles, including Director of Human Resources for the City of Moss Point and founding SRHS University at Singing River Health System. She served as the Director of Human Resources, Dean of Business, and Associate Vice President of Institutional Advancement for one of the top community colleges in the nation, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
She has also been actively involved in community leadership as the Charter President of the Kiwanis Club of Moss Point and an advisor to the Mayor's Youth Council. Tenesha is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and she's a charter member of the Gulf Coast (MS) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated.
Throughout her life, Tenesha has received numerous awards, including the Lifetime and Cable One “Caring Women Award in Leadership,”the Ethel Hedgemen Lyle Award. She received the Humanitarian of the Year award from the distinguished men of Omega Phi Psi. She is also a nominee for Gulf Coast Top 40 under 40 and Community Leader awards. She received Mississippi’s Top Business Women’s 40 under 40 Award just months before her 40th birthday.
She has also held important positions on the boards of various organizations, such as the Home of Grace Christian Rehab Facility and CUPA-HR, Lighthouse Business & Professional Women. Additionally, she has completed leadership and training programs and is a certified professional trainer, life coach, and trained mediator.
In her personal life, Tenesha joyfully shares her life with Pastor Tony R. Batiste and embraces her roles as a beloved Bonus Mother and Godmother in Ocean Springs, MS. The daughter of Ms. Edna Goldsmith Taylor and the late Louis "The Weege" Taylor, Tenesha's experiences have revealed her purpose—to be of service to others, utilizing the talents gifted to her by God. She is dedicated to a mission of providing servant leadership, mentorship, and good stewardship to those she encounters.
